Arrive at the church of St. Nicholas, the oldest Orthodox church in downtown and the oldest sacred building preserved in all of Belgrade. Next, climb the curvy cobblestone streets of Gardos Hills and admire the citadel and Millennium Tower at the top, which together are Zemun's central landmark. Witness majestic views from the top of the tower and look out over the Old Town, river, and the Belgrade Fortress from above. Next, discover Zemun's cemetery and learn why it is unique to the Balkan region. Take the interesting stairways down to the town center and enter into the Main City Square, with a lively market. Surrounding the square are important old buildings such as the Bishop's Office and the Roman Catholic Church of the Blessed Virgin. Visit Magistatski Square to see the administration buildings, Magistrate's Building, and the Town Hall which displays the only replica of the city's coat of arms. Just a 5 minute walk away is Zemun City Park. Pass the old Franciscan church and convent and also two Baroque churches. Head back to the car along the riverside.
