Bajloni greenmarket
Belgrade
The greenmarket was founded and held by the famous Jewish merchant Bajloni, after whom it was given a name that is still used by many citizens of Belgrade, despite the fact that in 1946, the greenmarket officially changed its name to 'Skadarlija'. It was built between two World Wars, and at that time it worked as a 'kvantaš' and the goods were sold wholesale. This greenmarket is extremely important for the residents of the Municipality of Stari Grad, but not only for them, because it is estimated that, today around 100,000 consumers are supplied at the largest market in the city center. The range of products, as well as the locations from which products arrive, are diverse.
