Description
We start the tour in one of the old taverns from the Yugoslavian period, where we will drink coffee, rakija or juice and where the guide will tell us about the tour itself, the places we will visit and will try to take us back to a „better time“.
Drive to the one of the most visited Belgrade’s museum, museum of Yugoslavia. We will visit there twosections: first mausoleum of former president of Yugoslavia-Josip Broz Tito and his wife Jovanka with collection of torches and chorographical presentation of his rule. Second, certainly, impressive collection of gifts which Tito received from presidents, kings, prime-ministers from all around the world. Among them are swords from Reza Shah Pahlavi, parts of the Moon surface which were given by Richard Nikson, bricks from Angkor Vat from Cambodia and many many others… The Flower House is part of the Museum of the History of Yugoslavia and is one of the most visited tourist places in Belgrade. The building was built in 1975 as a winter garden for the needs of the then President of Yugoslavia, Josip Broz Tito, and was then called “The Flower Shop”. After Tito’s death on May 4, 1980, the winter garden was converted into his final resting place.
We will continue our excursion visiting mountain Avala which is situated just half an hour drive from the city. A day on the only mountain in the territory of Belgrade – Avala, will make you feel like you’ve arrived in a true oasis in the bustle of the city metropolis. There we will visit monument dedicated to Unknown Soldier which was erected on the top of the mountain, in the middle of the forest. After only one minute of driving, we will be foothill of the 204m high Avala tower, one of the symbol of Avala mountain and Belgrade as well. Elevator will bring us to panorama level. From there you will enjoy in amazing view of Belgrade city and Šumadija region. Photos taken from there are amazing!
