Description
Escape Belgrade and spend the day in the breathtaking winter landscapes of Tara National Park, one of Serbia’s most beautiful mountain areas. Our adventure begins with a visit to the historic Raca Monastery, a peaceful spiritual landmark hidden in the forest. From here, we start hiking on a scenic mountain trail. The first part is a steady ascent through dense pine and spruce woods, offering a real “winter wilderness” feeling. After gaining altitude, we reach one of Tara’s most impressive viewpoints: Crnjeskovo. The panorama opens dramatically above the Raca River Canyon, with wild nature stretching in all directions. We continue on a circular hiking route, walking deeper into the silent forest scenery. Depending on snow conditions, you may see fresh animal tracks, frozen streams, and magical snowy landscapes. Our trail then leads us to the peaceful Jarevac Lake, a hidden gem surrounded by forest. The hike ends with more beautiful woodland paths and fresh mountain air, making this a perfect outdoor escape for Serbia’s Statehood Day holiday.Includes

The hike is moderately challenging and includes a steady ascent (approx. 600 m uphill in the first 5 km). Total hiking distance is about 14 km, with around 1,000 m total ascent (depending on trail conditions). The itinerary may be adjusted due to weather, snow, or trail safety conditions. Winter conditions may include snow, ice, and low temperatures. Proper hiking clothing and footwear are required. We recommend hiking boots with good grip and waterproof outer layers. Trekking poles are highly recommended. Participants should be in good physical condition and have previous hiking experience.
