Description
The tour begins in a traditional Yugoslav-era tavern where you can enjoy coffee, rakija, or juice while the guide outlines the day’s itinerary and shares historical context.
Next, visit the Museum of Yugoslavia, one of Belgrade’s most visited museums. The tour covers two main sections: the mausoleum of Josip Broz Tito and his wife Jovanka, featuring torches and a chorographical presentation of his leadership, and an extensive collection of gifts from world leaders, including swords from Reza Shah Pahlavi, lunar surface fragments from Richard Nixon, and bricks from Angkor Wat. The Flower House, originally Tito’s winter garden built in 1975, now serves as his final resting place.
Afterward, drive approximately 30 minutes to Avala Mountain, the only mountain within Belgrade’s territory. Here you will visit the Unknown Soldier Monument, located at the forested summit. Shortly after, reach the base of the 204-meter Avala Tower and take an elevator to the panoramic viewing platform. From this vantage point, you can see Belgrade city and the Šumadija region, offering excellent photo opportunities.
