Description
The tour begins with a meeting at a prearranged location for a private ride with the guide to key sites. The first stop is the Museum of Yugoslavia, established in 1962 to commemorate Josip Broz Tito’s 70th birthday. This museum showcases the history and culture of Yugoslavia through diverse exhibitions and notable architecture.
Included in the museum complex is the 'House of Flowers,' Tito's mausoleum near his former residence. The guide will then take you to see Tito’s Blue Train, a preserved historic train turned museum where you can have coffee.
During the ride between sites, the guide will point out Brutalist buildings from Yugoslavia’s socialist period, highlighting the architectural style prominent between 1960 and 1980. The tour also features stories about Belgrade during Yugoslavian times, including insights into secret service and political history.
Optionally, after the visit, the guide can take you to a traditional Belgrade kafana for a local lunch (not included).
