Following the fortress visit, the tour continues through the Iron Gates gorge, Europe's largest gorge and a Serbian national park, offering impressive views along the way.
Inside the gorge lies Lepenski Vir, an archaeological site dating back 8,000 years and considered the oldest European settlement. Visitors learn about its discovery, Stone Age inhabitants, and can experience a virtual reality tour depicting the settlement.
The tour also includes a stop at Captain Misha Hill, a historic viewpoint where a 19th-century Serbian shipowner navigated vessels through the gorge.
Upon guest request, an optional 1.5-hour boat ride is available through the narrowest part of the gorge. During the boat trip, guests learn about Roman history, including Emperor Traian's construction of one of the world's longest bridges.
