Description
Travel by vintage car with a driver and guide, experiencing vehicles that are 40–50 years old with unique histories. These cars were made in Kragujevac during the Yugoslav era.
The tour starts in Sremski Karlovci, a baroque town known as a spiritual and cultural center for Serbs during Austro-Hungarian rule. The town’s architecture reflects a rich history, with landmarks such as the Patriarch's Palace featuring iconostasis paintings by Uroš Predić, the First Serbian Gymnasium, Congregational Church with artworks by Paja Jovanović, and the Baroque fountain 'Four Lions.' The fertile vineyards of Fruška Gora produce notable wines, complemented by local specialties made from freshwater fish. Visitors can enjoy Bernet wine and honey degustation in the oldest wine cellar.
Next is Petrovaradin Fortress, built in the late 17th century and located on the Danube’s bank. Often called 'The Gibraltar of the Danube,' it features monumental architecture, underground galleries, and a complex tunnel system. From the Clock Tower plateau, visitors get panoramic views of Novi Sad and the Danube River.
The final destination is Novi Sad, known as the 'Serbian Athens' for its baroque intellectual heritage. Positioned among fertile plains, Fruška Gora, and the Danube, it hosts Europe’s largest music festival, EXIT. The walking tour includes Dunavska (Danube) and Zmaj Jovina streets, City Hall, Freedom Square, Name of Mary Church, the Catholic Gate, and the house of Mileva Einstein, wife of Albert Einstein.
There is free time for lunch or exploration before departure back to Belgrade. Lunch can be enjoyed at a Salaš, a traditional restaurant serving homemade Serbian cuisine.
