Description

After morning pickup in Belgrade, you will travel two hours to Golubac town. At the Danube’s widest point stands Golubac Fortress, a medieval structure dominating the landscape. Your guided tour covers several towers and the fort’s turbulent history.

Next, a 45-minute drive takes you to Lepenski Vir, home to the oldest known urban settlement in Europe. Your guide will explain the history of this 10,000-year-old civilization.

Continuing deeper into the canyon, you will reach Mali and Veliki Kazan ravines, the most impressive parts of the Iron Gates. Along the river, observe landmarks such as the huge carved face on the opposite riverbank, which your guide will interpret.

Lunch is served at a local eco-village on the Danube’s bank, offering authentic regional hospitality and cuisine.

Optional Private Boat Ride

Enhance your visit with a private boat ride led by a local captain. This provides close access to the Tabula Traiana, an ancient Roman tablet from the 2nd century AD visible only from the water. You will also see Decibel’s carved statue, the Danube’s narrowest and deepest points, and more, all explained by your guide and captain.

In the late afternoon, you return to Belgrade.
