Description
Travel along the Danube River from Belgrade to Golubac Fortress, located on cliffs at the river’s widest point. This well-preserved medieval fortress features mystical towers and panoramic viewpoints overlooking the Danube.
Enjoy a lunch break at a riverside restaurant, sampling traditional local cuisine while taking in views of the Đerdap Gorge.
After lunch, embark on a one-hour boat ride through the Iron Gate Gorge, the Danube’s narrowest and deepest section. During the cruise, see the Decebal Rock rock carving and spot Mraconia Monastery across the river in Romania. The cruise ends at the Tabula Traiana, a Roman plaque commemorating Emperor Trajan’s engineering work creating a road through this challenging terrain.
