Begin with hotel pickup and a short drive to Kalemegdan, the oldest and largest park in central Belgrade, home to the historic Belgrade Fortress. Starting at Leopold's Gate, explore remains of the Roman castrum Singidunum and medieval walls including Zindan Gate, Despot's Gate, and Jaksica Tower dating back to the 15th century.
Visit two Orthodox churches within the fortress area: the Chapel of St. Petka and Rizica Church. Continue through the Upper Town to see the Victor Monument, Roman Well, King's Gate, Sava Promenade, Damat Ali Pasha Tomb, Clock Gate, and Clock Tower.
After walking the fortress, return to Kalemegdan Park and board the vehicle to explore New Belgrade, known for its modern post-WWII architecture from the socialist era. Key landmarks include the former Central Committee of the Communist Party building, the Palace of Federation, Genex Tower (Western Gate of Belgrade), and the Sava Center congress hall.
Cross the Gazela Bridge to reach Dedinje, Belgrade’s upscale residential area, featuring mansions amid Topčider Hill’s greenery. Visit the largest soccer stadium in Serbia, home of Red Star Belgrade.
Next, head to Vračar to see the Church of St. Sava, one of the world’s largest Orthodox churches. Then drive through Slavija Square onto Nemanjina Street, where many government institutions showcase pre-war architectural styles.
Pass along Kralja Milana Street to view the Old and New Royal Palaces and stop briefly at the Parliament Building for photos. Continue to Terazije Square, featuring a 19th-century white stone fountain and the Moskva Hotel.
The tour concludes at Republic Square, the cultural center of Belgrade, with visits near the National Museum and National Theatre.
