Description
Take a vintage car with the driver and explore Belgrade differently, go back to the time that our parents call “the good old days” - see and understand what it meant to live in the capital of a great country. Belgrade is our treasure and we wish to make you discover it in a different way. Inspired by the time lived in Yugoslavia, we wanted to bring the spirit of a time closer to our guests.
Sightseeing with retro vehicles is the most unique way to experience Belgrade and learn about it’s history, or create the most memorable experience to you. Our vehicles are around 40 years old and each of them has its own story. Maybe you have already noticed them in the city, and they have surely attracted your attention.
The departure is from the hotel or negotiated, followed by a panoramic tour through Belgrade with the two stops - Tito's Blue train and House of Flowers.
House of Flowers - part of the Museum of the History of Yugoslavia and is one of the most visited tourist places in Belgrade. Today, the permanent exhibition in the House of Flowers consists of a memorial room with a book of mourning and an exhibition area where there are local, republican and federal batons that the youth of Yugoslavia carried on the occasion of Tito’s birthday on May 25, which is celebrated as Youth Day. The display includes written messages that Tito received with the batons, photos of the baton bearers as well as festivities on the occasion of Youth Day, marshal uniforms, etc. The grave of Josip Broz Tito and his wife Jovanka Broz is also located there.
The “Blue Train” is a museum-tourist train that, during the life of Josip Broz Tito, was used exclusively for the travel of the president of the SFRJ and high-ranking state and political figures in the country and abroad. The train was built in 1959 in the “Goša” wagon factories in Smederevska Palanka and “Boris Kidrič” in Maribor.
The workers gave it the name because it was painted blue to distinguish it from the other, mostly green, compositions of the Yugoslav Railways at the time. It consisted of ten carriages of the so-called “Main Train” and eight carriages of the so-called “First Train”. The “Main Train” was a unit that provided complete comfort and the opportunity to work during the trip, and consisted of: the president’s salon, the ceremonial dining room, the main kitchen, the guest salon, the restaurant car, the closed car for transporting cars, the sleeping car and the power car. The interior of the train is very luxurious, made of the finest mahogany, pear and walnut wood, covered with woolen carpets and upholstered with plush and satin in the art deco style. President Tito hosted over 60 world statesmen in the “Blue Train” and traveled more than 600,000 km in the country and abroad.
