DescriptionThis full-day tour takes you to eastern Serbia and includes the most interesting historical attractions of this region. Your historic adventure begins with a visit to Viminacium archaelogical site, where you can see fascinating Roman remains and discover what life here would have been like during this era. Explore the remains of its mausoleum, amphitheater, and baths. Hear about the ancient city, the capital of the Roman province Moesia Superior, and the military camp located in this area during the Roman era. Within the archaeological site there is a mammoth park with a spectacular skeleton of a five-million-year-old mammoth. Golubac fortress is located at the entrance to the Iron Gate, the longest gorge in Europe. Explore its visitor center, walk along the Danube river, and enjoy the beautiful views of the river. The last stop of the day is, Lepenski Vir, the oldest urban settlement of humans in Europe which dates back to 9500 BC. The site consists of one large settlement and around ten satellite villages. Numerous sculptures and peculiar styles of architecture have been found at the site and most of them can be seen during your visit.
