Six-times winner of the Grammy Award and three-time winner of the Latin Grammy Awards, the highest awards in popular music, pianist and composer Čučo Valdes key figure in the history of afro-cuban jazz. The turning point of his career was marked by the album Jazz Bata , where in 1973 the first time merged jazz with traditional rhythms of sacred bata drums, to be found in the music-based band Irakere. At the Belgrade Jazz festival symbolically returns exactly four decades of performance with that legendary band, when in the company of Arturo Sandoval and Paquita de Rivera captivated our audience in the Great Hall of the Belgrade Youth Center.
Concert Čučo Valdes Batá Jazz Trio in the 34th Belgrade Jazz Festival will be held in Kombank Hall (House of Trade Unions), on Sunday 28 October 2018.
